ask & task
Boehringer Ingelheim was preparing to launch JASCAYD® (Nerandomilast), a treatment for Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), including Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and Progressive Pulmonary Fibrosis (PPF).
The goal was to design and deliver branded and unbranded websites that educate, empower, and guide patients to take action against disease progression. I joined prior to the branded site’s launch to support UX design and ensure the experience met both patient and business goals.
action
When I joined the team, the foundational UX and UI structure was in place, but design optimization and production readiness required focused attention. Working within Boehringer’s Global Design System (GDS), I streamlined design files, created localized components specific to Nerandomilast, and refined style variables to improve scalability and handoff efficiency for future updates.
In collaboration with Art Director Jessie Botney and UX Designer Crysta Jones, I helped refine page flows, validate interaction patterns, and ensure consistency across both the branded and unbranded experiences. Our goal was to strike a balance between brand adherence and user-centered clarity, especially for patients navigating complex health information.
I focused heavily on design documentation and quality assurance. This included reviewing component behaviors, verifying responsive layouts, and cross-checking all final pages against approved wireframes and design comps. My work ensured seamless implementation alignment between design and development teams leading into launch.
results
Following FDA approval on October 7, both Nerandomilast IPF and PPF branded websites have received client approval for design and usability execution and are pending launch. Broader stakeholder feedback and site performance data will be gathered as part of the post-launch review, but early reception has been positive. The project strengthened collaboration between the design and client teams, positioning our group for continued partnership on future Boehringer Ingelheim product initiatives.
